OPERATIONS AGENT
Before boarding, the crew meets with the operations agent to review a file containing the technical and commercial data needed for the flight. During a meeting, various pieces of information are exchanged between the flight crew and the operations agent: notes on the aircraft, its characteristics, the most recent technical interventions, passenger and cargo details, and also weather conditions, which are essential for the crew. Indeed, wind, temperature, and atmospheric pressure can affect loading limits, and modify speed and flight levels originally planned.
In short, the operations agent must possess strong knowledge in many areas: meteorology, navigation techniques, air traffic, IT, safety standards, and more...
This job can be done at night or during the day, including weekends and irregular hours. If recruited by an international airline, the operations agent may be required to work abroad.
